Can someone tell me what type of gearbox is in a 1.4 8v mk5.

we are on our 3rd going to 4th gearbox and the stealers just quoted us 1200 quid for a new box.
So c an some1 tell me what gearbox will fit the mk5 1.4 8v.

Help needed. fast !!!

4th gearbox! blimey how many miles has the car done? and is it a known fault with mk5's for having gearbox trouble?
sorry not really of any help, but was intrigued at why so many gearboxes
