A stupid speaker wire question

Okay this may be the stupidest thing to ask but here goes. I am trying to wire my speakers. They have a + and - terminal. i put the wire on these however my stereos harness has four wires. Two purple in which one is striped white and two green in which one is striped white as well.
My speaker wire is grey with one wire striped for each one. My guess is the striped wire is - NOT +. So in this case i will wire left speaker by grey wire to green wire in my stereo harness, and grey/blackstripe wire to green/white stripe wire. And will repeat this but the right speaker will be connected to the purple wires. AM I RIGHT BY DOING THIS??? also instead of twisting the stereo harness and speaker cables together, i bought red 5amp bullet connectors male and female. Is this right type???
my speakers are JVC 240w 6x9s.
They are mounted on the parcel shelf, and i want to create a neat little wire pull of thing so that i can pull a plastic thing off to disconnect the wires when i wanna remove shelf. Is bullet connectors 5amp good for these as well or is there something else. i know this can be done. I am not using an amp. cheers
