I have bidded on a Panasonic MP3/CD stereo, it has a 4x50w builtin amp. But i wanted to know if my standard VW Blusih door speakers will be okay to connect to it cos i dont know the spec of them, any1 know??.

Does any1 know if Panasonic units are any good, do they produce good sound. I got a decent pair of JVC 6X9s and will replace my current door speakers possibly with some Infinity's but for now i want to use the vdub 1s, so that i dont spend all my money at once.

yeah thats fine, im running 4x50 on standard VW speakers

as for make, IMO alpine are best

but ive heard that Panasonic is hot for the money

4x50W will be more like 4x20W in the real world. It'll work well, and the standars speakers aint bad atall.

Thanks but i think im gonna replace them as well anyway. probably better to as am gonna invest in a amp and sub soon.

Any1 recommend any decent pair of 6.5 inch door speakers for a mk4. i want something that outputs quite a bit of bass. they will be 2 my 4x50w stereo for now but will have a amp soon.

Also how the hell are those tweeters connected to the stereo that are in the air vent thingys at the top of the dash, i dont wanna remove them just curious.

6.5 inches r the right size for a mk4 init? i dont want to remove that tray thing the original door speakers are sitting on , i want to keep it so that you cant tell they have aftermarket ones until u hear dem i think theres a word to describe this but can think of it too tired

It is actually better to have an amp with more power than you need, the reason why is that if you turn a low power amp up loud, 'clipping' sets in, this distortion turns the music signal into a square wave, which will damage your speakers, a more powerful amp avoids this happening, so you get the voloume, without the distortion, (although a bit of distortion makes the percived loudness higher, a trick used in the mastering stage of most dance music.) I have just ordered a sony cdx2050 (my first mod), which is rated at 4 x 50 RMS, if it don't say RMS after the figure it is likely they are quoting Peak figures, which in reality is much lower

I've got some Pioneer 6.5" TS-A117C in my front doors, i want to get the same ones in the rear of the car fitted if i can, thinking where to get them though.

They give out nice sound, they're fairly loud, but obviously ... not loud enough because i need to amp them up. Got a sub powered by an amp in the boot which sounds sweet, but two more components in the back and all of the components amped up would sound sweet im hoping.
