hi im a new member about to get a 1996 1.4 8v polo, its immaculate and im geting it for like 800quid, but im just wondering how they go? like whats the top speed, and the 0-60 the bhp? im gonna start modding it as soon as i get it as ill have alot of money left over, has anyone got any links to some fully custom polos? cheers

Not bad considering they are quite heavy - the have a lot of torque between 1500 and 3000 rpm so you don't have to row it along through the gears

Flat on the boards with a long enough road about 105 is it 0-60 not a clue probably about 14 secs

Bhp = 60 at the fly

Cheap and subtle mods look better than wild body kits
MKV rear lights
Clear or smokes indicators and side repeaters dependant on the colour

I think the euro look has a lot of fans here - smoothed low and chunky

Brouse the members rides sections - should get plenty of ideas from that..

0-60mph ive had 13.5secs
top speed around 100mph

i've had 115 down hill tailing in mine

was trying to get the speedo off the clock


(and i wonder why my car breaks so dam often and why i need a new gearbox...)
