Performance or looks?

What is your main goal for your car?

Do you modify it to make it look nice, or do you want to mod it to make it go fast?

i modify to go for looks due to the fact i have 55bhp under my bonnet :(

Mine looks nice already IMHO, so my mods so far have centred around performance I guess - B&M and Eibach springs. On the 'to-do' list are 'zorst, refurbed alloys and kamei grille, the latter two are for looks really to tweak the appearance of the car a little and make it a little more personal without going too mad. I was all set for tints in April until I spoke to my insurers

Performance outweighs looks if you can afford the insurance, I'd rather have a stock Polo GTi externally, with some carefully selected and reliable engine/transmission mods, than a fully kitted and rimmed 1.0 with 60bhp and four exhuast pipes

I'm with Si on this one!

Got B&M shifter and H&R springs. Gonna get a BMC and probably powerflow exhaust (hopefuly fairly quiet!).

I'm not into bodywork mods as it's a matter of taste and I do want to be able to sell the car eventually.

Although I have changed the wipers and bulbs...

I've gone for subtle modernisation on the looks front, but better performance is what I'm after. 8)

I want to say performance, and it will be my goal when insurance allows it, but for now I've just gone for looks. I'm not going for anything drastic, just 'subtle modernisation' as Krupa said :) I think my main goal has always been just to get the car running like a new car should.. unfortunately it always seems to have something up its sleeve to spite me though :(

a bit of both! i want my car to look the dogs nads, but i want it to go like poo of a well greased shovle! haha!

you don't need to do much to a dub to make it look spot on! OEM+ rocks!

I'm after a balance, subtle styling mods, performance-wise I'd like a little more oomph but I think it's enough for me now....I also subscribe to the OEM+ philosophy

yeh IMO a bit of both ie suspension makes the car sit better therfore looking better and also makes it handle better so counts as performance.
But overall id prefer my car 2 look good than go like a rocket

I want a bit of both but if i had to choose would go for performance. Personally i'm happy with the look of my Polo, wouldn't mind lowering it but that mod would be done for Handling purposes.

I love seeing peoples faces when they get there ass whooped by a car that looks nowt but is actually fast as ****!

erm I dont do it for eithe looks or speed.....

.... I just do it because I can do it.

and my cars are built by me for me, and I dont care what anyone else thinks of them....

... which is why I prefer my mk2 rat to my mk3 gt

subtle mods are wot i'm into! performance is the way for men now as i now have over twice the bhp that i used to in the blue one! can't wait to get the g40 on the road!
