I'm sorry if this post has been up before (I can't find it!). Does anyone have any idea of how to get the black sidestrips off a mk4 polo? Is it a professional job? Is it stuck on like the badges are on the tailgate? Or will i need a good hair dryer to get them off?
Cheers
Tom

Yep -easy

Nope - no holes to be filled - just peel em off after warming them with a hairdryer or use a bit of fishing line wrapped round a couple of pieces of dowel and saw through the double sided tape - clean the residue off with WD40 and a soft cloth

I did it and it isn't so hard...
I have left my car on the hot summer sun, than went to the garage and push plastic "thing" between door and sidestrips:
The glue left on dors have to rubb of with fingers - painful part:

But what if the car is an early 6N model ( year 95) and it has been in the sun all it's life with a previous owner. And when i say in the sun it's the mediterranean sun ( Portugal)
Will removing the sidestrips leave a mark with the colour of the car? The car's Storm Metallic Grey.
I wanted to get them removed but i'm afraid it'll leave a mark. If it does im considering colour coding it along with the door handles
What do you reckon? Take it off or colour coding it?

Does colour coding mean taking them off and getting the strips off the new models?
Whats a rough price for replacing the strips and door handles (5 door) with colour coded ones?

i mean color coding as taking the current mk4 1s off, and get them painted and glued onto the doors again.
later models mk5/mk6 have clips/indents on the bump strips so they wont fit on the mk4.

hehehehee
What if I was lazy and wanted to just paint them whilst on the car still?
Also... whats the process of putting colour coded door handles?
