lowering suspension

I'm going to be lowering the gt pretty soon, and just have a few questions...

I have a set of spax adjustable shocks and 45mm lowering springs from my Mk2 Golf GTI and wondered whether or not golf kits are genric with polos?

If not then I will only be putting springs on the polo as I dont want to spend a lot on modding it.

Which springs would be recommended.. so far I have seen that 30, 40 and 60mm springs are readily availible from many veedub tuners.. 60mm I think would be too low on standard shocks, so 40mm seems to be what I am after.

Which make should I go for? Eibach are too expensive at over £100! Any suggestions?

Anyone have any pics of their coup on a 40mm drop?

Oh yeah, I will be running 6x14 inch P-slots when the suspension goes on...

Thanks..

Ok, lowering your GT on a budget.

First of all the Golf suspension wont fit unfortunately.

Lowering 40mm with standard shocks is fine. You can get a set of ventura 40mm lowering springs from Euro car parts for £45.99 + vat. I know a few people using these and they are very good for the money.

£200 is about £120 too much!!!

The polo is being built on a budget. The proper money is being spent on my next Golf.

The polo is never gonna be a quick car.. nor is it ever gonna warrant having uprated shocks. I just need a car that looks nice and that will hold its own at any meets that I go to until my VR6 is built!

Also..... I have neglected to say this yet, but the polo is actually half my dad's too... He uses it during the day and I use it in the evenings. The old man never uses it enough to even know (or need to know) how to use my Alpine head unit! He has never even put the face on... so although technically the car is mine (Insured and registerd as mine) I can't be doin anything too crazy to it like lowering it 70mm!!

:?

I'm trying to find some springs that go -50mm, but as of yet have found none...

hehe, so I ordered a set of Ventura springs for Euro car Prats today!

I pick them up on Saturday, and will fit them before Bug Jam!

I can't wait to see what the GT looks like lowred on P-slots! I'm going to get a mk3 Golf VR6 chin spoiler too! Should look pretty tough!

Nice one. I would also recomment getting set a new shocks too, especially if you have the orginal factory ones on.
Euro car parts do Biltsein original gas shocks that suit those springs well, and they are very resonable in price.
