12'' xplod XS-L121P5 or the JBLJBL-GT4-12, which will have the most controlled bass, not talking about crappy upper mid bass boom, but definition. Any one heard both and can comment?

I Would take the JBL over the sony...
as some full sony systems which i have heard distort quite badly after a certain level when others keep going.
Im currently running a clarion HU, Vibe SA-K 60s along with a Vibe 10" Active Box

Sony stuff has been known to be Xplop!! I'd go with JBL.
Hellfrauds have a sale on at the moment though. I got my Infinity comps with £30 off. Cheaper than anywhere id seen online, after delivery was added on.

had a good listen to the sony, JBL and one other (forgot what brand) the JBL and sony were way better than the other brand, was hard to decide, they were both good quality, i.e. not ploddy sluggish bass, but tight, deep, punchy bass, the sony I think had a bit more punch, but that could be down to 'tuning' which may not be entirely accurate, other factor that was relevevant is that the sony cannot be mounted flush under a piece of MDF, which is what I'll have to do to mount it in the spare wheel well. So the JBL wins.
