1984Car has been described to me as in excellent condition bar a dent on one of the panels. Full service history. MOT, tax, 1.0 60bhp, just needs a few engine/body tweaks and a good polish to look immaculate (apparently).

Good buy/Investment? (My knowledge on MK1's is next to nil other than they used to be Audi 50's)

Buy it!

drop in a 20vT and go racing!

Seriously though, its definatly a good investment, if it is bent you'll make more than £100 breaking it and selling parts

Sounds like a good buy - don't forget that these cars are total rot boxes, so you should be really careful to check it over properly before you buy. I've killed a fair few of these for spares, and at least 1 car looked good, but was completely rotten beyond repair. Have a good look around the following parts:

Battery Tray (rots out and then allows front floorpan to also rot out!)
Inner wings around the headlamps, where the bonnet slam panel welds to it.
Outer wings along the top edge and the seam where they join the front valence (Normally crumbles away nicely...)
Front Jacking points (Crumble badly - bastard to fix too)
Rear Wheel arches (inner goes first, then water trashes outer arch and the rear part of the sill goes too - plastic arch protector promotes bad rot!)

I'm in the process of creating a nice retro derby, and all of these areas were poor on my car, also the same areas have gone on my other Derby too.

Good luck with it if you decide to buy it.

60BHP from a 1.0L ?

If it's as good as described then buy it.
Fix it up and lower it on some nice 7" ATS wheels.
