Looks good! A 'W1' plate will cost about £500-600 though surely? Whenever I've looked a plate with just the number 1, rather than, say, 2-99, (e.g. W3 DUB) its always been more expensive!

As an example I was looking at 'S2 VWW' for £250 all in, but 'S1 VWW' is about twice that!

Yeah, I have the same problem about what I'll do when I sell the car, I don't mind getting another Dub but I've always fancied an S3...as I've seen this plate...L1U VW, which is my surname...for 500 squid...what do you think?

I have a private plate on my car....... Its Y6 then my three initials..... Cost £500 all in from DVLA....... But thing is i can then keep it for however long i want and it'll never look out of place on another car. I plan to keep it for however long i have a car, and obviously the further into the future we go, the more obviously it is a private plate because you'll get to the point of the plate being however many years older than the car it's on could ever be.

DVLA will switch the reg between cars for you when you get a new one for around £100 i think.

I wanted my initals and the number 13 (my lucky number) but both 13*** & ***13 came up for sale at around the £8000 mark!!!!! I even looked at X111*** which if you think about it is the same thing. but that went before i got a chance to buy it. The last one i tried was asking the DVLA to release *** 13M which was my initials, lucky number and year of birth. But they've still never released it.

There are some kewl plates that are specific to a certain kinda car but i reckon your better off getting something relating to you rather than the car, then you get more use out of your £££'s

Cheers

Dave.

W1 DUB is £999, not bad considering the one on my dads Audi was £12,750 hehe. Im a VW man for a while i think, until i can afford a audi or a porche  . Id rather get one for my initials, but i only have a first and a second name so its quite difficult.

My dads best mate has the reg LEW1S, lenox lewis offered him £450,000 for it but he said no coz hes loaded :D. Its currently on a DB7 i think.

Yeah I agree that a personalised plate is better when it applies more to yourself than the car, as you can transfer it between future purchases :) and is why ideally I want "S9MON"...... for £3500!!!!

Maybe not just yet eh?

i have P666 0L0 on mine so kinda restricted as to what my next car will be
i like W1 DUB though, broadens the amount of cars you can buy if you dont want to part with a plate.
