MKIV Polo on ATS Cups

can anyone provide me with any pics of a MKIV Polo on ATS cup wheels for inspiration
Our completely std. (well apart from modified rear wiper) 1.6 GLX is now approaching 100k miles and I am thinking of giving it a simple alloy change and lowering job (FK Highsports). Its our second car and although it has been well looked after, it isn't worth much now, and it will probably be kept until its run into the ground.
My wheel of choice would be the ATS Cup, as i just love the style.
I assume the wheel in 4x100 7x15 ET28 wearing 195/45/15 tyres would have no problems in the arches/with rubbing ?
Thanks in advance for any pics/advice..........

Good choice, I quite like cups on Mk4's. The size you're looking at should be fine, but if you go too low, there a chance you'll encounter some rubbing. If you're lowering it sensibly you should be fine.

^^^^ like the man says
I have the same setup (on Rial GS's) and when I put a BF Goodrich on the back it rubbed a very small amount, with them on the front it's fine.
These are offset 35, but the 7 inch width is conservative.
With a good, slim choice of rubber you should be fine up to 60mm, after than then be careful. 40mm will be no trouble in my opinion.
My bird has kumho tyres (medium brand) but they are much thinner than my tyres with the same width (195 and 7 inch wheels).
I'm about to get some more tyres, if I change brands I will report on the fitting under the arch

thanks, thats most helpful of you (and the two other members above who posted pics).
Your car looks great in the pics and is just what i was looking for. How low is/was your car in the pics and did you experience any rubbing (assuming they are 195/45 tyres, 7x15 ET 28 wheels)
Are the wheels for sale with tyres ? If so, what condition are both in and of course, what price..........

Hey,
The car was lowered about 90mm / 100mm with rolled arches and I experienced very slight scrubbing on the back and minor rubbing on front when going slow and full lock, and yes that is on 195/45/15's, without rim protection (something to consider when buying tyres)
The wheels will be for sale with decent tyres, how ever the wheels are in need of a re-furb, all 4 (or maybe 3 I can't honestly remember) are kerbed and 1 of them has a small chunk taken out of the wheel / tyre (water is now getting behind the laquer around the chunk which dosnt look pretty) How ever, I had my MOT'er (and personal friend) check the wheel over Thursday and he said it isn't a problem and would be fine and could be easily mended.
So bearing all that in mind, I am open to offers on them (they'll hopefully be coming off the weekend) Ideally I would like around the £350 mark as these do cost £600 new + £200 for tyres, a refurb would cost you anything between £25-£50 per wheel.
Let me know if I can be of any more help

thanks again for the info.
I am ideally looking for a set in very good condition. It is purely an asthetic improvement to the car and if lowered it would only be in the region of 40mm, so i assume i would have no problems, which is nice to know. I have a chipped PD130 diesel as my main car if i need some speed.
No offence is intended, but i think you may need to adjust what you would like for your wheels, considering the condition you describe. Dubmeister are selling brand new sets with new Toyo's, delivered for £550 all in.
Thanks to everyone who has contributed to the thread.

Hey,
You shouldn't have any problems at 40mm or possibly even at 60mm, using ATS Cups as an asthetic improvement is a damn good idea

lovely wheels!
As for the cups being £550 I had no idea they have come down that much! I'm only going by what I payed for them about 6 months ago! I will have to re-think
Once you get you'r wheels sorted you'll have to post some pics up
Good luck!
