Strange knocking noise....

Hey all. When i start the car, i can hear a strange knocking coming the right side of the car. Me n my dad thought it could be the engine mounting, as when we gave the engine a shake the mountings made a similar noise, so we sprayed em with some WD40 - a week later and the noise is back. Don't think its the engine mountings.
Any ideas??

If you sprayed something and it stopped for a while then it came back the chances are the lubricant dryed up and then it started again, so whatever you sprayed seems to be the problem.. why not wait til it starts doing it again and then spray different areas til it stops and then you will know.??

sounds like a plan. Just wondering if anyone has ever had the same problem?
