Im looking at getting some standard VW alloys now instead of these one's i bought for the car a while back...

Ive got 4 pretty good tyres on these alloys so either looking to replace these ones when there low or sell...so theres no rush.

Who has standard VW alloys on there car, and what size ?

As much of you lot will disagree and agree.. ive got 15" the now and i like them but i want bigget wheels with a 30mm drop. Ive read a few post's on here on who has the 17" with the 30mm drop....id prefer the 17"

Next thing - apart from VW Garages where can i get VW wheels ? VAG Parts ? and what styles is there ? Im looking at 5 spoke (If there is any) or multi spoke ... everyone think ? Oh and a rough cost.

Maybe i'll stop by VW later to day to find out more..

What about some 17" RS4 alloys. They look mint on 6N2's, just have a look at Polosilvers car, looks awesome.

I have just removed the 6 spoke VW alloys from mine, and replaced them with some 15" 5 as you can probably see from my website both styles.

I am looking at re-finishing the original alloys then selling them one-by-one, but that said, I keep tripping over them in the kitchen.

There isn't anything wrong with the original alloys, other than the brake dust is beginning the dull both front ones and one of them has been refurbished in the past and its finish doesn't match the others except when it is perfectly clean.

The biggest problem of the stock alloys is that they are very expensive, even these. I would have paid up to about 70 quid for a single one, but multiple deals fell through on ebay and I replaced them all.

Another problem is that in the last 3 or 4 years, VW has fitted all their range with 5-stud hubs which have a different PCD and offset. With the end of production of the Lupo, I think all cars in the range are now 5-stud. So if you're looking for anythng larger than 15" OEM alloys you might find it tough, as alloys from a Golf/Bora or Polo 9n/9n3 will be a 5-stud design.

Its not the end of the world though, you can source adaptors for them or have them redrilled as 4-stud?

Mine are 15" standard alloys, 15"s were the largest wheels fitted to the Mk5 Polo during its production, at least in the UK - not sure if Europe saw any larger wheels?

dont get me wrong, i do like the style of the rs4, but 17" looks way too big for the polo, plus you can't go low down and dirty as you want

I agree. Too much wheel, I think 17s look silly myself. Its kind of like a bridesmaid with caterpillar steel-toe-cap boots poking out.

No offence but i think that your wheels look more out of place then mine!

That is because VW, for some reason, like to have the car on stilts. I'm not going to lower this car though, because I like the way it drives as it is. I've done my fair share of slammin in the past.

It looks ok when I have two fat passengers...

Have you got a picy of that spoiler from t'back? I think I need one, the car just looks like its about to have a spoiler, then it doesn't.
