Golf Engine into a polo

I have just bought a 1.4 mk3 golf engine from a 93 model, Im sure these engines are the same as mk3 polo's and will fit easily by swapping the alternator mount..... also does anyone know if the gearboxes off a GT or Genesis will match up with this block?
still looking for an ECU and manifold 2.
