my filter of the 57i kit went completely black so i used the k&n service kit to clean it. Once cleaned i applied the oil. But when i did this i found that oil was dripping in inside it and laying in their. its not dripping out the filter like anything, but there is some residue. is this bad? i have never oiled an induction kit before, but if dirt is not allowed would that pinky oil be okay?? just wanna make sure it aint harmful

i have a k,n,N they all have one huge problem. They dont clean all the dirt out of the air. They are made of a pourous mesh thats supposed to get rid of all of it before it enters the core. It doesnt. If you sit the 57i straight ontop of the throttle body you notice it gets black really quickly. This can be bad. The oil that the throttle body spits up covers the element and catches dirt. So instead of 5% dirt gettin through about 15-20% comes through when the oil gets sucked back in. You are best to change the filter for a brand new one. I get a new one every 6 - 8 months.
