Your joking right?

There is a silver clip on the back of the front lights, once that comes off the casing is loose, u can see it in there, jus twist it slightly and it pops out.

Simple, i did mine outside college.

Phill.

The GTI is harder because of the Xenons but I've heard it is possible with the rest of the 6N2 range...it's a bit of a ball-ache with the GTI...I don't even want to bother with it!

every other mk5 can get the bulb changed like any other car, just take the clip off the back and u can get to the buld! it is a fiddle but it can be done!

as for GTI's, i have heard that u need to take the bumper off to get to them! but there ment to last ages aren't they?

Yeah the HIDs will outlast the car unless you have a prang (God forbid) or get a severe stonechip. Its the sidelight and high-beam bulbs that expire like any other filament bulb, and then you have to have the bumper off or at least partially dismounted to swap them out! Not a job I fancy tbh I'd rather hand it over to the dealership despite the half-hour labour cost
