Newbie Here.

I bought my N reg Polo Mk4 two weeks ago and last weekend was the first time I got my hands on him to play. Sorted out some niggly annoyances that were, well, annoying me. Pics soon, I promise.

Right then, to business. For the past 2 years (since passing my test) I have driven round in a Red Cinquecento called Geoff. He was amazin. Some serious modding went on there, some that I am fairly embarassed of, but he ended up being quite a sexy little car. Now I have Nigel (My polo) I intend to do some of the things that worked, and some that didn't.

I was on the fiatforum.co.uk a lot and I know how useful these places can be, so I want to say straight off - I will be talking to you guys a lot!

OK, first two questions will p*** you all off cos from the look of the forum they get asked all the time, but still. 1: Do the rear lights from the later mk4 (All red light clusters) fit onto the Mk4 which I have? (Which have orange and red ones with a big white splodge for reversing).

And also, wheels. I need some. now I aint got the cash at the mo so this is speculations, but I want to keep the same rolling radius if i can to avoid recalib's and stuff, so are 14's with lower profiles an option or is that daft? I like the look of a polo i saw on here with the 14's off a Lupo. Thought they were well nice and would suit Nige down to the ground.

Those are my two starting quesitons, but there will be more, trust me.

Photos soon, promise.

Dragon green btw

hello, welcome to the forum!

the red lights are actually the mk5. these dont go straight on, but with a bit of sanding here and there, they will. new bulb holders are also needed i believe.

for the wheels part, i think 15" with 195/45/15 tyres are the most popular for the mk4 ( i had them too  ) and these keep the rolling radius very very close to the standard steels.

enjoy!

cheers

Hello again. In reply to the where in Sheffield, Im about 10 minutes from Dronfield in Beighton, near RotherValley. I know someone who lives in Dronfield Woodhouse. Hazaa!

In terms of the look Im going for I just want some nice alloys, poss 5,6,7 spoke. I dont particularly want the EuroLook, I like the cars but Im not after a show-car look, just a bit of ooh...

I may have a look for some alloys tonight online. And thanks to everyone saying hello, makes me feel welcome :) and I am in a 1.4l btw. No 16v for me - damn insurance.
No CL for me either, I went to look for one, but someone else bought it before I got chance. Dernit. Too expensive anyway. This was only 850 and Im putting Central Locking in it anyway. Yey!

Lass called Nicola. Aint seen her for aaaages though. Quick Q guys - seen as Mk5 sound like work to fit, not much, but enough to put me off; what other suggestions for making Nige's bum look even nicer. I want to avoid the coloured lenses if at all poss. I was thinkin some tail light tint - which worke don the cinq a treat but i went clear on the front and repeaters and dont want it to look daft,

Suggestions?
