I use Autoglym resin polish and somtimes I finish it off with autoglym high gloss protection. I usually polish the car once every 2 or 3 weeks. I have been told its better to wax than to polish, is that the case? if so whats a good wax to use?

Try Meguiars Stage 3 Carnuba Wax, it's the game. you should really use the stage 2 aswell which is the polish.

Yeah it is much better to waz rather than polish this is because waxing your car every month or so will help build up a protective layer on top of your paint this will help prevent your paint work from oxidising etc !
