Hi, I'm the new guy!

I drive a white 5-door 1.4 8v. It handles great despite the 70 degree angles it reaches on the tightest of roundabouts, but it lacks power! It clears a bit better over 4500rpm since I switched to 100oct fuel but it ain't no Hayabusa.

Sure, I beat 1.4 16v 101hp Ibizas, but then who doesn't?
I get 12.5" for the 0-62mph sprint. Ideally I'd like to be in the high 8s. Low 9s will do :P

I've been thinking about a 16v 115bhp head, 16v intake and 115bhp ECU from the Ibiza SR. If I go this route, the head will be lightly breathed upon before being put on, aiming for 120bhp.

However, I love how my Polo currently wedges me in the seat when I floor it between 2950rpm and 3200rpm and I'm concerned that a 16v setup won't have the same torque kick. Hence I'm also considering a stock ~100hp 1.6l 8v jobbie.

I'm leaning more towards the 16v setup. The Polo doesn't weigh all that much and a revvy 120bhp might be more suitable than a rumbley 100bhp, but I'm not sure. What do you think?

yes, but you would then get an even harder kick by dropping the gear and keeping it in the harder charging 16v torque range..... :D
