I use photoshop at uni all the time so im pretty good with it now. Got another 2 years left of uni, should be really good when im done. Photoshop is all about taking your time and doing things the right way!
I just learned to use it by myself initially.

Try downloading Photoshop CS trial from:
http://www.adobe.co.uk
Just have a play arround, its not that straight forward to begin with, its all about trial and error!
