Is that official?
Those rear lights looks like coloured Lexus IS200 lights to me.

The new Bora looks just like the Americas-market Toyota Corolla.

It's obviously fake, it was posted about a year ago. AFAIK the car isn't on the streets yet, so it's tough getting real life pics. So it's not US only anymore? Any info on whether or not it's coming to mainland Europe?
The site seems to be down at the moment btw.

Personally I really don't like that.. fake or not.
Side profile looks like a mondeo, rear lights look like a vectra, tailgate looks like someone's just plonked a metal box in the middle of the car and sprayed it to match.
I could probably grow to like it if that ugly rear end was fixed..

Yeah, damn free host! Sorry about that. Here is the best image Ive come across, as you say real pictures are non existent thus far. Ive seen a disguised mule and it has similar lines to this, so I would say its a fair to assume this is real:
This was taken at the Mexican factory, which is where US Jettas (Boras) are built. Its more important to the NA market but it will come here, just like the Bora, Jetta, Vento etc. Unfortunately it looks pretty sad - theyve gone back to sticking a boot on a Golf, which is the very thing they did not do that made the Bora a relative success IMO.
Oh well, I won't be buying one!

I watched the conversation evolve on vortex when this image was first found a good few months back. It definately *is* real, as the original image is just a photograph taken in a stock yard, with lots of other cars sitting around it.
The reason why people are giving it so much creadence is, if you look closely, you can see a small white oblong sticker on the front wing, infront of the wheel arch, immediately above the bumper. This is where VW puts its model designation numbers on its development cars. If you look closely at the spy shots we discovered of the Polo GT being tested on the track (should be searchable in here, if not - try 4car), you'll see the same sticker.
The fact that this is real is a separate issue from whether or not people like it. The similarities to the Toytota Corolla have been drawn at length and are generally considered to be a "bad thing" (tm). There's a really long and involved thread on this across at the vortex.
Deek.

the present bora is a smart good lookin car which id love to own (specially a 4motion with them feckin sexy lights), shame VW are changing the whole look of its range. the new car is turd, gutted. i hope when they make it, it doesnt end up like the piccys shown. and arent they going to give it a new name (jetta, vento, bora)? maybe another stunning name like bora, maybe "duller". its good to see they kept it simple for our american cousins (jetta, jetta and jetta). and why did they call the MPV sharon, i mean wots that mean in german? we all know wot it suggests here in the UK.
why are the germans makin their cars weird looking? im alright with the mk5 golf (or i think i will be in a year or so) but have u seen the plans for audi? there slowly making the 2 grills meet like in the a8. i know alot of u liked it but audi is about subtle stylish power, not brutish hard edged looks (except in the RS's). this will be seen across the range soon, look at all their models in a show room and notice how the grills (upper and lower) are starting to connect its a slow evolution and u will see it happen. the bloke at my local audi said in the future even the a3's will have this! i love both audi's and VW's but wot the feck is happening? r they following the beemers with that Bangle styling which is turd and only works on the z4 (still looks gay tho). so wot am i goin to do wen i want i brand new car?
im thinking of going spanish, i hope the new leon cupra will not be fecked up german styling. all i can say is PLEASE VOLKSWAGEN MAKE THE CORRADO NICE!
