does anyone know if there is any kind of electric valve or vent pump around the fuel tank ???
my 2002 1.2se is buzzing when i switch it off and sets the alarm off ?
then shuts the whole car down as if the battery has been disconnected?
it is not the fuel pump as i can disconnect it and it is still there,
it is something to do with the pressure in the tank cos i can release the fuel cap to let any pressure out and it stops buzzing
any ideas anyone

there's more than one fuel pump in the polo system - IIRC there's three not including the actual injector.

if you take a mk3 at least and put the rear seats down, this takes away a lot of the muffling over the tank and you can hear the fuel lift pump working a lot more plainly than normal - it makes a kind of reserved, constant buzzing noise thats almost musical really.

that it keeps going after you remove the key is a worry, particularly it being enough to set the alarm off ... but this may be the source?
