you can buy a kit i think from rothe motorsport, but its alot of work! you have to bore out to a 1.7, change the compreshion ratio, ECU etc.. you are going to end up with a VERY VERY highly tuned Gti block which may not be very reliable and only pushing out about 225bhp. your also going to end up spending alot of money on it and having to do a DIY install. if you can do the turbo convershion yourself you may as well drop a 1.8T in!

BTW - you may get more replys and more info in the GTI section

sounds alot of work,,

do you no how must the kit costs?

me brother and the boy from badger 5 just said it would be better to put in a 1.8t, but do you have any idea how must that would cost, maybe get a engine and everything needed from a right off.. :?

1.8T is big bucks, if your really that interested in speed id sell the GTi and buy something like a Cupra 1.8T, infact, it would be cheaper to keep the polo and buy a Cupra too, the conversion would cost upwards of 8grand, if im not mistaken!

holy s**t thats big money for an engine upgrade. selling the polo had been thought about but i dont want to its too good a car, and i like it far too much to get rid of it.

cheers for the info guys :D

A good DIY job would cost you £2000 to £3000. get JBS to do it and your talking £7000!

perhaps you should consider a nitrous kit as an alternative? josh had one in his before he sold it.

good for the 1/4 miles perhaps

not sure about the nitrous, dose it not make your engine go t*ts up??

not if you look after your engine and control the flow.
