the engine cover on my R reg 1L 6n has bolts holding it down the nuts are welded in place --- the far left bolt has snaped-- there is a small amount of threads left in side the nut but as there is a metal ring through which the bolt goes i cannot see the thread-- the rest of the bolt is attached to the plastic and can be removed --

basically i have a bolt snapped inside a nut tht is hard to reach and the nut is welded to a metal ring which connects to the engine-- it is the engine cover -- the one fitted to the later model polo's as standrd.

has any one gt a pic of there engine bay so i can explain it abit better plz??

thnks if u can help!

thnks mate-- ive highlighted the bolt-- its the bolt tht holds the plastic cover in place --- the bolt goes through the plastic and into a metal ring looks like a washer-- then welded to the bottom on tht is the nut which the bolt goes into-- half the bolt is off a few threds are in the nut but cant gt to the top because is does nt come past the washer/ring.

enlarge it to see highlighted part>
