Is it just me or have VW got it *horribly* wrong?

Let me explain:

Polo drives into roadworks:


Roadworks guy chases after it:


Polo continues on its merry little way:


Tree falls down in front of said Polo:


Although not seen, it is implied that the Polo drives through the tree, resulting in:





And the new slogan:



Now, is it just me, or does that imply that the car's so ugly it has to wear camoflauge? Or is it just my warped mind...

I did miss the very beginning of it, so the above is all I was able to grab. Perhaps there's something right at the beginning that explains it all. Maybe.

Oh, and note the chrome grille. It comes with all the Sport models. I'd read about it and had hoped that it would be the "full monty" per the Passat, but sadly not.
