strange squeaking noise??? driving me insane!!

hi all,
my 1.4 TDI is totally standard, anyway i have noticed recently that the drivers side front wheel/brake is squeaking/squealing nearly 98% of the time when i have nearly full lock on turning 'right'?? (doesnt do it when turning left??) it does it sometimes in a straight line but not very often. When i apply the front brake the noise instantly goes away?
my mate made a valid point aswell that it only started with the recent hot weather?? but we could be a bit paranoid there!
all i can think of is a warped front disk??? but wouldn't it make the noise all the time? the only thing that has changed in the last 2 months was a full service, BUT the noise didn't appear until about a week after the service, so could be clutching at straws there.
cheers for any help ideas anyway.

cheers for reply, have no idea what pads i have on? but the guy in the garage said i'd need new ones in 3,000 miles.
maybe the pads are simply worn? but ti only seems to happen when turning right??

My N/S wheel bareing went on my 19 16v and made a grinding noise when I turned right.
This also stopped when I braked.
This could also be a possablity.

i was wondering the same
maybe all the summer heat plus that of braking softened the grease just a little too much on an already worn part?
(i found bearings to be a continual b*tch on the mk3

)

hi again...
i dont think its a bearing.... the bloody annoying thing is driving to work this morning it was only making the noise when i was braking, even then it wasnt that bad. its defo something to do with the hot weather, the car is parked in direct sunlight all day in here..... going to take the wheel off anyway and have a check!

just had a thought... would vented disc's help?
are they shed loads more than normal 'bog standard' ones which i guess i have fitted at the moment?

you HAVE made sure it's not simply worn pads, right? or a trapped stone, something like that?
warped discs will give you a distinct judder thru the steering wheel when braking so i doubt its that.
there was something about the pads or the carriers being loose, i remember seeing, that could also cause this?
(edit: no... it was that they were badly lubricated - on the OUTSIDE faces of course, not the friction material! the rear bit of the pads where they contact the carriers needs a little copper grease if i remember rightly, to ensure a good fit and stop squeaky vibrations)

cheers for replies....
doing my head in now, drove to work this morning and the only noise was a faint squeak going in a straight line that lasted for about 10 seconds.
gonna take wheels off on the weekend give it a once over and jet wash the hell out of them. can you buy disc/pad cleaner like i got on the mountian bike???
other than that i think i'll get the pads changed, then i know their done, the cars just hit 40,000 so i guess their due.
any idea how much a set of good'ish pads would cost all round?
