Sad to say it's a daily driver because of the ever-present threat of stonechips, plus you'll have to fit a front numberplate to your smooooooothed front?

I cant bring myself to put the plate back on! Plus the reason i hate using it every day is that i have to take it on building sites! CLEANED after tho!!

What are the plans for the rear?

More smoooooothness on the rear maybe get the exhaust takin off and get side exit!! Toyin with a smooth boot aswell!!

Just out of interest what cleaning and detailing products do you use on your car, the paintwork looks bloody fantastic, as does the car itself, i'm well impressed

Turtle wax extreme car wash followed with Meguiars clay bar, meguiars detailer then depends on weather gold class wax or tech wax! wheels i use meguiars hotwheels with a really good rinse!!

Meguiars micro fibre cloth and (dont tell anyone) but you cant beat j clothes!!

I'm using exactly the same products atm apart from the shampoo which I use zymol instead (on a silver gti), suppose I'll have to get a darker colour if I hope to get that kind of shine though !

(strangely enough I also have a large amount of j cloths for cleaning too )

Clay bar sounds like a damn good idea for my car! I'm an Autoglym kid but the clay bar is something they don't do. Is it true that after claying, you need to wax or polish to re-apply a protective coat of wax/polish over the paint?

the clay bar will remove all the surface contaminants off the paint, so it most probably removes alot of the wax too. usually you get a lubricant with the clay bar that itself is some sort of quick detailer or spray on wax type product. If you use one of these with the clay bar you'd be ok, but in all circumstances its probably best to give the car a coat of good wax to make ensure that no new crap can bond onto your freshly cleaned paint.

if I were serious about your polishing i'd put the autoglym in a dark corner and get yourself some megs/klasse/p21s products (I doubt they cost much more than the autoglym but give as good results as zymol in most cases) you'll be impressed with the difference of shine and durability over autoglym !

btw you wouldn't apply polish to paintwork to protect it (unless it was an all in one which also waxed the surface), a polish would be used to remove things like oxidation and maybe very light scratches on the paint after using a claybar, a wax should be used to apply a protective layer that to protect all the hard work of the previous steps !

Moynas, that looks really nice now you got it smoothed, not too sure on Red but that shines like anything. I'm going to have to go with the smoothed look when I get mine, front bumper, rear bumper, boot and side.
