Has anyone in here changed the rear wiper to an aero-wiper? Was it just plug & play?
I ask this because I have a 2002 Polo and therefore no aero wiper in the back, but my cousin had to put his Passat in the dealer and in the meantime his driving a 2004 Polo. We changed the wiper only and the wiper motor was different, the 2004 is a little longer.
This meant that I end up swapping wiper motor and everything.

I put a Polo aero wiper on my Ibiza 6L and it was a straight swap, other than some modifications to the cap as it wouldnt fit on the Ibiza glass.

Well perhaps if I had modify the cap it would be a straight swap. Either way I've changed all the parts wich is good because my water pump didn't reach the top of the window and this one does

however it seemed to be a straight swap on my 2002 if i can remember, only problem i had that i can remember was getting the old wiper off.

Since I had the service car I took advantage and swapped also the part of the gearknob that has the numbers (mine had a scratch).

Why is that? Everything I took I put back. Besides it's a service car from the dealer who sold me my car, if someone is a thief here is them!

Nevertheless the thing I wanted to know was if the swap was plug & plug or involved some kind of handwork

Should at this point and should have done earlier that there is a DIY guide for this mod. So that would have given the answer that is should have been just plug and play.
And it was theft at the end of the day. You took parts to replace parts you never got (spare wheel tools)

I believe the specs changed close to this.

I have done this mode on 2002, the only hard part was getting the original arm off, without doing damage to the rear window/bodywork.

Never got but sould have got. The dealer should have placed all the parts that came originally with my car wich he didn't. In the end of the day I call it justice.
