possible reason for dead lamba sensor

last night i was out having some fun on the mountains and this time i remembered to take a picture of my under bonnet ambient lighting
these pictures are completly unedited apart from resizeing by imagestation

what you are looking at here is my exaust manifold however the camera didnt capture the color very accuratly in real life the color is much more orange and actually projects so as to light the back of the radiator

and here is the same picture witout flash which came out in blue for some very odd reason but shws some of the hottest areas very well

so i dont think theres much question remaining as to why ive got to change my lamba sensor as its the piece in the picture screwed into one of the hottest areas

So what are those metal tubes then?

(I'm not surprised about the sensor actually!)

the silver one with the lines round it? thats an A/C pipe and the part you can see is a heat sheilding so maybe vw realised that theese temps were possible lol

ah it be reight she loves it really :D its her way of asking me to make her a custom manifold but she doent understand that at the moment i cant afford a welder (damn mod addiction)
