Hi,

Im trying to fit an alarm to a 1998 Polo 1.4CL. It already has factory fitted central locking using a key.

The alarm has a facility to operate the c/locking remotely. I've fitted alarms a few times but these were to cars with normal locking motors.

I've never fitted it to vacuum pump system, so am a bit stumped at the mo.

Has anyone got any ideas of wire colours to splice the two lock/unlock wires from the alarm to the pump or is there a more suitable location elsewhere nearer to the fuse box at the front?

Any help would be appreciated, if someone has the answers please could it be put into the DIY guides section.

Hi,

I was just wondering if the the CDL pump is also contolled by a positive feed from the driver's/passenger's door lock barrel rather than a negative.

Is there anyone that can shed some light on these queries. There must be some people that have fitted alarms to their MKIV's themselves.
