Hi,
I've been toying with the idea of putting a VR6 engine in a 6N. I've seen them for sale before so i know it's possible but what would i need to do it (other than the engine - which can be sorted easily)
What u reckon chaps?

i might be wrong but i think its custom mounts fabricted,,bay seam welded and chassis legs need messin with too i believe,,then just obvious stuff like suspension and brakes,we had the venom green 6n vr6 at well lane a few year back and it was a beautiful machine,,lot of work though.

Custom mounts are one way to do it, another is to cut the mounts out of the donor car and use them...
I haven't researched this conversion as much as others but one thing I can say is don't be frighten off by shouts of 'understeer!'.
The main problem with engine conversions isn't getting the engine in but getting it started (i.e. wiring and plumbing). Where are you based?

I live in the melton mowbray area, leicester.
I know a place where i can get an engine, gearbox, ecu and wiring for £200.
Good price?
I can always get the money back by lobbing it on ebay if it poses unsuccessful.

if i were you i wouldnt bother with a vr6 at all as there are betta engines out there to fit in a polo
i have helped out on a vr into a polo job and it was a pain in the t**s start to finish and when it was done it handled like a pissed donkey
vr6s sound lovely and do go well but everything else is a downer about them inc mpg, weight, tuneability etc
i used to have a 220 bhp ( cost £2500 to get to that bhp) mk2 golf vr and it was great fun but i am still payin the fuel bill of my card 2 years later
2.0 16v or 1.8t is the way i would be going i reckon

true i would not go for a VR6 because of the petrol and tuneability 1.8T is better or 1.4 16V with turbo kit fitted...should be quite nice. What about the 1.6 16V gti engine?
