I need the radio code for my standard headunit before i go ripping it out to put my sub and amp in.
I be-grudge paying VW £21 to do this for me - is there a cheaper way?

I've got a calc program, but seems to only work with 'old' serial numbers that don't have a 'Y' in them
Other places do radio decoding via hardware, should be cheaper than £21

Thanks

try to find a company local to you:

?
hopefully
have a sneaky feeling it could be difficult, as the headunits are Blaupunkt, but 'VW versions' hmm

Are you sure the code isn't in the back of the manual?

The code should be on a tear out card at the front of the manual which says tear out and keep in a safe place. When I bought my car the code was missing so I took it to VW and they fouind the code for me free of charge.

It's deffo not on a card in the front thats the first place i checked as i thought thatws where it always is.
The £21 is for removal of stereo to get serial and then the admin charges for emailing VW Germany for the code. Give me the email adress and i'll do it myself lol

Mine was at the back, it didn't say it was a radio code probably for security reasons. So I would just look for a 4 digit number. If not see if they will waive the charge if it's the dealer where you bought your car from.

No need to worry now - my service guy has given me the removal keys and told me that i shouldn't need a code as the headunit is paired to the car but if i do he will get it for me!
God its handy having a VW service technicial live next door to your mate whos working on your car.
He's helped with the ICE install aswell! BONUS!!
