1981/X Polo 38,000 miles - n/s door mirror

I have a 1981/X Polo LX 3 door which has done only 38,000 miles. It has just passed it's MoT at the first attempt and is in very good condition. The MoT tester couldn't believe how solid it was, especially underneath, for a car of its age. I am the fourth owner.

I have three questions:
1. How much is it worth?
2. I need a near side door mirror; has anyone got one?
3. Has anyone got an offside door in light metallic blue? Mine has been crumpled a bit.

Sorry, four questions:
4. Does anyone want to buy it? I don't need it any more.

Sorry, five questions:
5. Where is the best place to sell it?

I look forward to hearing from anybody with any information. My e- mail address is [email protected].

Thanks,

Jon

Best place to sell it would be either here or on porka.net, they're the two main polo owners forums and you'll find people who will appreciate the mk1 rather than write it off as a little old car that's worth nowt. In good condition you'll probably be looking at around £4-500 at a guess.. depends how good condition 'good condition' is really ;)

doors, you might find a scrappy that has one in good condition but dont hold your breath
i dunno, would a mk2 / mk3 door fit? they'd be in ready supply, but you'd almost certainly have to paint it up yourself to match

dont even touch:
autotrader
ebay
street corner with "FOR SALE £500" signs in

do try:
vw mags
here
porka
other polo/vw/classic car websites, mags, owners groups

Thank you GroovyCarrot and Tahrey1043 for your advice, which is very helpful. I've already had one enquiry but, unfortunately, it's from Cornwall and the cars in Lincolnshire!!!!! Still, you never know!!

I appreciate you both taking the time to help me.
