Depends on who does the conversion.

AW tracksports Eaton, Chris Durnells, may have only taken a short time but others companies may make the best use of eight or nine months worth of work on one.

Damn, I wouldn't mind my sounding that cool.

well if

I'm a relative newbie to this G40 stuff, but you're not seriously telling me it's as easy to fit an Eaton M45 as it is a G40 charger?

I know, having talked to the head honcho at AWT that having done the hard work with Chris's car future conversions will be much easier but it is more work to fit the Eaton surely.

Fitting an Eaton charger requires a new intercooler, therefore custom pipework for said conversion. It also requires a new bracket to be fabricated by AW Tracksport (which is actually pretty cheap at £600 if you consider that porting the G lader costs around £500) and the pullies need to be modded (IIRC) before it can finally be fitted.

Also, does an Eaton conversion not require new injectors and a rechip? Possibly even an engine rebuild to be on the safe side and make the most of the different charger.

Mounting work, so mounting costs, surely.

Granted, now that AWT have done one it's going to be much easier for future ones to be made but it's still a more difficult and potentially more expensive process than simply getting your original G-lader ported and rebuilt by Pitstop/G-Werks/Jabba.

No, it doesn't. That is a possability.

I do not know anything about the M45 chargers other than that they are big. LOL.

I have heard that the new Allard G40 Intercooler is far more than capable of performing a good job of cooling the boost of an Eaton charger.

They're about £300 though aren't they? What you'd save in the cost of the pipework would be made up in the cost of the intercooler itself.

Either way the stock G40 intercooler isn't up to the job which is something worth budgeting for.

You could pay £550.- and bodge in a front mount with twice as many 90' angles if you would prefer.
