Here we see a almost fallorn looking and a touch rusty mk2 polo coupe S
(pic too big so heres a link)

The body was in poor shape when i bought her, small dents peppering the bodywork, a rusty front wing and drivers door. I soon got round to sorting out the dents, pulling and smoothing them to the best of my ability (with the help of my old man)
The engine is the 1272 carbed MH block, its nippy for what it is but it isnt exactly grease lightning. I will be keeping that engine for a short while, mainly due to the facts its only got 80k on it, i have just stripped it down and cleaned it up and insurance is a killer at 17 even on a 1.3.
So, bodywork being seen to and engine running well i did some research into what was open for the lil coup.
It was then i bought her a new front bumper from reiger, just to update her slightly and combined with a grille spoiler (not sure what to do with that) it gave it a mean stance.
I have just started playing about with the bumper, i smoothed the line that wrapped around the bumper...

...and smoothed it into the bodywork

I have also smoothed the tramlines around the rear lights, the slam panel and the scuttle panel, i have smoothed the sills into the wings and the join in between the wings and the scuttle panel. (not quite finished in this pic)

So now every join or tramline that isnt a door, boot or bonnet is smoothed in.
Thats pretty much it for now in the way of progress, slowly but surely she is being restored and given a new lease of life (hopefully)
some shiny things...

14" BBS RJ's gold spokes with a polished lip.

rocker cover, not quite finished
I plan to have her resprayed in Atlas Grey metallic (LP7V) when all the bodywork is done. She is lowered 70mm on springs and shocks now but i am going to install powerflex bushes all round. I will get some upper strut braces (big whoop i know
) I am also thinking about stripping out the back and making a false floor and fitting a roll cage. Not too sure yet though.

Car is now almost done, she will be going in for the respray as soon as i get her done.
