Hi dude.
The how wide are the alloys and what offset are they? If the width and offset are ok then they should fit but you will deffinetly need new tyres or you will have some scrubbage (not to mention the fact it'll look like a 4x4)
14" or 13" wheels are better to be honest, less chance of scrubbage, and you can lower the car more. 15" wheels will drain power from the engine and will make lowering almost impossible.
If i were you i would take the 1.4 engine out of the golf and put it in the polo, iirc it should be a straight swap and it will be pretty nippy.
With regards to the seats i am not sure if they will fit straight off, i know mk1 golf seats and mk2 golf seats fit but i think the mk3 seats will need modification to fit and the rear bench may be too wide. Mk3 polo seats will fit and the doorcards will fit with a little but of modification. If you have a breakers yard near you then have a look around, see if you can find any mk3's or mk2 coupe S'. The coupe S' should have "sports" seats and a three spoke "sports" steering wheel. Also they should have a centre console that'll bolt straight on to the bottom of the dashboard (failing the scrap yard i have a spare one lying about if you want one)
With regards to the exterior it looks pretty straight, it would be an idea to clean up any bits of rust or any dents ect and maybe lose the grey vinyl strip (i am not sure how people view this but personal oppinion i think it would probably look better with it gone) but that will be a mission in itself.
What plans have you got for your salloon? They are great looking cars and are getting rare these days.

I wanna put alloys on it but thats about it it looks minter in real life than in the pics. The engine in the Golf is coming out this wkend but im having it fully recond first I think it will be a whilst b4 I change the polo engine cos the car used to belong to an old guy in his 80's now its 70k on clock and been serviced ave every 5 thousand miles it starts and drives perfect so as my dad says "if it aint broke dont fix it" so ill wait till it starts playing up

regards the wheels they are 100 i think

I must steal your boot spoiler!

Not seen one of them for years! Welcome to the site mate.
Oh btw i think its already been said but those tyres are massive, you want 195/45/15 as an absolute maximum. As for the seats no they wont fit im afraid. The top half of the rear bench is exclusive to the polo saloon as well so it doent leave you spoilt for choice when it comes to interior. But front seats from a mk1/2 golf and scirocco will fit as well as from mk3 polos.
The engine will drop in the car no probs assuming its an ABD engine, but some wiring will be needed. You may need the engine loom from a mk3 polo with single point injection (exactly the same system as the 1.4 golf assuming the golf is an early mk3; J K L reg) You will also need the fuel tank lift pump and the inline pump from a mk3 and all the fuel lines. plus the wiring for these items. Youll also need a mk3 exhaust to accomodate the lambda probe (or get a lambda boss welded into the mk2 system)
good luck with it anyway whatever you decide to do.

is that the one that was listed as having been left on the seller's driveway by a mate and told after a few months he could do what he wanted with it?
im sure i recognise the fence is all, and the big fat black stripe (distinctive!)

MK3 Golf seats WILL NOT fit without modification, i have MK3 GTi seats in my MK2 olop, and in the end i ahd to put the original seat frames in with the MK3 seats ontop of it.... looks mint now tho!

That car is just so damn cool
Don't fiddle with it too much, but do fit some period alloys (I'd suggest you don't bother with the 15" ones from the golf, they'll be a pain to fit and 15" tends to look ott on an old polo), lower it, fit a coupe S interior and perhaps a twin lamp grille if you can find one colour coded (do they exist?), it'll look bloody fantastic

Yeah mk3 golf seats are pukka, ive seen kris's and they are very swish

I reckon get some bbs 14's, deck it 80mm and put a white twin light grill from a parade on it, and a meatyer exhaust [de badge! and modern-sh roof rack

]

try audi 80 multispoke alloys theyd look sweet (if they fit that is) black motorsport alloys would look the dogs.
is it basicly the same as a mk2 suspension wise?

The saloon is the same as the coupe in almost every way (apart from the boot of course

), and shares the same suspension etc.
If I'm thinking of the same alloys that you're thinking of, they were also fitted to the passat (or a very similar design of wheel was), so they would fit. And yes, they would look very nice

the only two things i would dare touch on that are
1. the wheels --- someone with a mint mk2 squareback might like them, dont scrap! --- i dont often say such things but that is crying out for some nice 13, or better 14 inch alloys and slightly larger diameter tyres overall from what it has now
2. get rid of those grandad seats! urgh... if you want a quick upgrade (colour-wise, at least), i have the old ones from my blue mk3 sitting around unused and unloved. don't know if they'd match any better, but at least they wouldnt look like they've been robbed from a retirement home

(...well, not as much)
other than that, the car is just mint as is
PS -- oh, and an engine shine-up as well. maybe some heatproof hammerite on the cam cover to sort out the rust. £150? bargain.
PPS maybe a 5 speed box if you want it, it hasnt got one, and its affordable
