Xenon Lamps - Bulb too long hitting reflector (projector?)

Hello guys,

First of all I need to thank vwclub.gr quite a bit, he's been helping me loads with this Xenon install.

Seems the McCulloch H7 bulb is 1/4" longer than the regular VW installed halogen bulb and it hits the 'little cup' inside the light unit, which reflects light back into it to prevent blinding people on the other side of the road.

What are my options:

1) send the HIDs back and swap to 130W halogens

2) get a longer reflector that fits the polo, do these exist?

3) get shorter xenon bulbs - don't think they exist.

4) FK angel eyes

Thanks, Mike

Well, Bob I told you what I think it should be best.Open the headlights and expand this cup so you can install the xenon bulbs. And it is a nice opportunith for you to paint the reflectors in black!

Another solution is FK's angels eyes

Even though I see there is not big interrest I will post some info and pics.
Here is the back of your headlight

Take off the bulb

There are 2 torxes that hold the ring which holds the bulb in pluce. Unscrew them and take aout the ring

Unscrew the remaining torx which holds the cup we told about in place. Take it out.

Now you can expand its length in order to be able to install xenon bulbs
