Driver's door catching bodywork

I've not long had my Polo, and I'd noticed that sometimes when getting out of the car the door felt like it was caught or rubbing. When I had a look I noticed that the top corner of the door is catching the top of the bodywork, and has scratched right through the paint. While this isn't a tragedy, I'd like to stop it happening.

Is there a simple way to raise it a little on the hinges? I did notice at first that the brass-coloured arm (you'll have to forgive me here, I'm not car expert ;)) that comes from the door and attached to the body was slightly loose at first, but I tightened the 2 bolts and it seems fine. It doesn't appear to be load bearing anyway.

Any ideas?

it's difficult to do it that way, the door doesn't have much movement in it, but maybe the hinges are worn and it needs new ones.

take it to a bodyshop, and they'll put a jack in the doorframe and bend the hinge back into position.

mine was doing the same - cost me a tenner to fix, and they lacquered the scratch for me to stop it rusting!
