I got pranged on me' front end on me' MK2!

I have a dent at the very front of the nearside wing (front!) and my indicator has been knocked back and my bumper is a bit messed.

I need any idea of how to like replace the bumper and maybe the indicator or where I can buy the parts. Its incredibly rare that I'll get any MK2 parts in my local scrap yard because I've been in there often and they just never get them! How about the same colour paint..where can i get details on the exact colour..its red lol?!

Is there like a parts site?

Thanks!

For new parts either try www.gsfcarparts.com or www.eurocarparts.com. It's worth trying www.partsgateway.com, they check the VW specialist scrapyards for you although it's rarely as cheap as going to a scrappy and getting the bits yourself.

Replacing the bumper is a doddle. You've got two nuts holding it in place, if you look down the front of the engine bay, just inside the inner wings there's a nut holding the bumper on each side. Remove the nuts and washers, unplug the indicator wiring (just next to the nuts either side) and pull the bumper forward, sliding it off the mounts on the wings.
The indicator is just screwed into the bumper, it'll be pretty obvious how to replace this when you're removing the bumper.
The wing also isn't hard to remove. You've got a line of bolts along the top of the wing inside the engine bay, two phillips head bolts at the front of the wing just under the bumper, one bolt at the bottom of the wing on the door side, and three bolts inside the wing on the door side covered in some sealant that you'll have to apply heat to to soften it to get at the bolts. You'll have to remove the arch lining to get at these ones as well. Once you've got the bolts out the wing just pulls away.

What year is your mk2? If it's early it'll probably be mars red, if it's late it'll probably be tornado red. There should be a sticker inside the boot somewhere which confirms the colour, although I've never found mine so I can't tell you where ;)

Personally, I'd just call it "character" and live with it :D
