Just wondering, what is it with mk3 polo owners and wanting foglights?

On my old gt they were allready fitted (badly) when i bought the car. Got them factory fitted on my g now, but my main lights are sooo much better with uprated bulbs and uprated wiring loom, mikes my fogs look like orange candles now!

It's the challenge of having something that either cost a bloody fortune, or are hell to find. It's a bit like Crapi owners and original parcel shelves.

I don't think it's about actually using them.. they just add something to the looks of a car. Blanking plates in place of the foglamps tend to indicate a low spec car, so fitting the fogs just completes the look of it.

In my case, I fitted them because my dad had a set in the loft that he didn't want and I had a few hours free

good point GC, i dnt use mine (unless it foggy  ) but its really for asthetics. MK3 bumpers looks so much better with them fitted IMO

I have HID-effect bulbs in mine so they're actually not too bad.

I need to get them wired up again this week thinking on it! They've been unplugged since the conversion my home-made loom was soldered onto the engine loom.

I will eventually get round to fitting some but its going to be next year now. I got some BMW E36 crystal foglights a few months ago to go with my In-Pro headlights for my GT.

with me its purely for the aesthetics, but its cheaper for me to restyle the front end of the car (making a new front bumper with the bmw fogs) that to get some vw fogs

yes i agree with GC that it completes the look of the front end, tis like having clear indicators they should have all had them.

They very rarely get used though. Any excuse though and I make the most of them. 8)

How expensive are they? I'd like a set to pimp mine up a bit :D

its an asthetics thing mostly! maybe the multiple number of lights makes you look good, i'll have to ask my uncle, sooooo many llghts he had on his type 25 bus!

i definatly want a set! i think they finish the front off nicely and yes, no fogs usually means a lower spec model, especially with todays cars!

yeah £70 each more like! :o

I paid £100 for mine brand new at inters last year, but they come up on ebay from time to time and yeah sell at around that price. They cost around £90 each new from VAG iirc.
