Hi, yep. I think i've got a rattle coming from under the bonnet...
Seems to happen at higher revs in 1st, 2nd gear. Better in higher gears and when at crusing speed - so more of an acceleration thing. Couple of days ago had cam belt changed - could this be related?
Thanks.

could you also describe it as sounding sort of grinding-ish?

i suppose yes. Can see that you've had something similar but can't find anuthing loose..... Could it make rattle/grind noise from cambelt not being correctly fitted? or perhaps something that was replaced when this was changed?

I had the same problem, guess u found mi post
basically mine didnt have anything that loose to make a noise, but theres two screw type things that have no bolts on the other end underneath, i basically replaced these and the noise went I checked all my belts everything and they were absolutely fine...it took me ages to find it but now its gone. U never know it might be something as stupid as this in yours
i had a doubt on the cambelt when i experienced this as i had a recent replacement. but it wasnt that!

Hi, What were the screws you talked about? What do they hold in place?

it is the plastic front that hold the headlights and where the grille partially mounts on. If u still dont get what i mean i will try and get a pic if u want.
Also, looking at your engine from the front of the car, you will see the air intake thingy coming from the left wing, there is a bolt clearly visible on this (when u unscrew the intake pipe that is going to your airbox). This get loose very easily as here VAG have used a rather stupid rubber nut underneath which is ever so hard to get to. Just tighten this as best as u can.

If you got anything in your boot Eg tools then take them out and check. If it still rattles lift upt eh boot carpet and look around the spare tire. Could be a nut/bolt or something as small as that.
