hi i have a mk5 sdi with good old keep fit windows, i was enquiring down the scrappy about electric window mechs, now at £100 for a pair i am very interested in trying to change my mechs for electric ones, does anyone know if this is possible. my main worry is the wiring, are the looms in place or is a make your own case. Any help would be great cheers guys.

Im sure anything is possible, but its going to be fairly costly. if that price includes both regulators and motors, then its a good price indeed

What about the hole where the handle would have been? Or going to leave in place?

Swiches to get also?

others have though of this idea too, try a search for more info

Im not sure if the loom would be present, im guessing no... perhaps your first step is to pop off the door cards and post what you see?

There are 3rd party kits available I believe, if the OEM project is not possible

Hope helps

yea thats motors and all, the scrappy has the switches and all with the regulators, im gona phone an auto electriction about the wiring and if its beyond me then ill see if he can do it, i was just gona cap the winders this should lokk no worse than the after market ones as the use the same idea. new door cards was an idea but im not really wantin to spend anymore than £200 and with the car to tax and only part time job money it could be while before things happen.

sounds good

Im not sure the loom would be present, no reason for it to be really... first step is to pop off the door cards I still think
