Hi Guys

Gonna be doing a 40K service myself (except cambelt -get that done locally) due to stealer prices. Would be grateful if anyone could let me know the following;
What type/spec engine oil does the polo gti have to have -VW will tell you their own!
Also whats the minimum wear thickness for front discs -gti's are thicker than the 1.4 16v going by the haynes manual (which does'nt cover the gti).
Cheers!
Simon

Not sure on the disc thickness but the oil you will need will be semi-synthetic, 10W40 IIRC. The last time mine was serviced at my local dealership they used Castrol GTX Magnatec. I believe you can fill the car with fully synthetic if you want to :)

This might help, alternatively you could ask vw parts...

If it's any help, the minimum thickness for the 1.4 16v 100bhp 6n I believe is 18mm (also not covered by the Haynes manual). At least that's what's stamped on the side of my Brembo Maxs :wink:
