Haynes Coverage for Mk5 Saloon

Hello, I'm new! I've had a search of the forums and couldn't find an answer to this.

I'm trying to find a maintenance manual that covers the Mk5 Saloon. Haynes have one for the hatchback version but state it does not cover the equivalent saloon version.

Do other manuals exist out there? If not, how much does the saloon really differ under the bonnet, etc, from the hatchback? In other words, could I mostly get by OK with a Haynes for the hatchback?

I've been tipped off that it's the same as the Seat Cordoba, but again, Haynes only cover this up to 1999 models. Not much use for me as I have an X-reg (2000).

I'm no mechanic but am keen to start learning since my garage bills keep going up. Practical motoring and all that!

If you're on the polo-l Yahoo! Group then you will already have seen this (so sorry for the cross-posting). :)

Haynes have replied:

Thank you for your recent enquiry regarding the above vehicle, unfortunately we do not produce a Service & Repair manual for your vehicle and regret have no plans to do so within the foreseeable future (6-8 months).

However, all customer requests are recorded and used in the decision making process of future manual publications/updates. I realise that this may be of little help to you at present, but I can assure you that your request has not been ignored.

Sorry we could not be of further assistance in this instance, assuring you of our best intentions at all times.
