Right, im in the middle of transforming the look of my dub and ive seen some schmidts i REALLY like, i can get them in 9x16s or 7/8x15s

will the 9s fit on straight off? note my car isnt lowered yet, or will they stick out about a mile/rub like bastids

i understand this is probably asked all the time but im too lazy to search!

any help would be great

cheers

9" wide wheels?? No. They won't be going on unless you've got a handy widearch kit in your shed to go on with them!

The widest you want is 8" wide, the standard rim on the GTi is 6.5"x15... 8" rims will fit with the right offset (not sure what that is precisely) and 195/45 or 195/40 tyres, depending on if you go for 16"s or 15"s (40-profile tyre not available in 15" size IIRC).

Any help?

yup he's right
the standard 6n2 arch work will not be able with 8.5J+ wheels let alone 9 so don't even try!, of course theres always the option of having arch work, but i'd never let someone stretch my arches to make some wheels fit!
just my opinion

ah right

thanks for the advice, saves me some money

ill just go for some 7 inch wide ones then i think, should get enough rubber on the ground so as i can transferr all those 60 mighty horses

im doing a photoshop, and taking ages so it looks decent, of what i want doing but i need to know that the owner of the pic ive chopped is ok with it, but it should look pretty cool when its done

going in tomorrow for a new gearbox and clutch and possible removale of my current exhaust so the back can come off when i get it home next week.

then its just a case of selling my chav 17s

anyone want them for £20? prolly worth that in metal :D
