Passenger side electric window repair kit?

Hi,
Just a few questions since my passenger side electric window motor seems to be jammed (luckily in the closed position

)
I've just watched that VW video on electric windows and have a few questions:
1. Does the whole window mechanism need to be removed altogether or can the motor just be pulled out and the wheel replaced; without removing the runners etc.
2. Does the repair kit only consist of a new motor wheel and 2 wire ties or is there more to the procedure?
3. Has anyone recently bought a repair kit lately? How many £'s are they likely to set me back these days?
4. Is it an easy job to do? as a VW dealer was quoting me ridiculous prices for labour (or as the call it diagnostics and repair).
Many thanks for helping a newbie, Mo

Its very easy. U will have to remove the window mech, as you have to do this properly. U then gently remove the motor from the mech, take the motor cover off, then grease up the wheel and change it over.
I did this and its fairly straightforward. it only comes with cogwheel and tags yes. They cost me around 25 quid each (I bought for both windows)
If u havent bought one yet i have a brand new and unused one that i can sell ya for way cheaper than VW price

. i bought as spare no longer needed..pm me if interested!
More questions before I do the job.

Hi Guys,
I've now got my repair kit off VW and managed to find one of those Torx T20 screw drivers...Monday seems to be OK for weather I'm ready to give it a go
I watched the VW video and I see hw the actual motor is taken off the mechansim.
What I'm a bit confused about is the next scene on the video it shows the bloke working on a table with the whole mechanism taken out.
Is it necessary to take the whole mechanism out?
Also what are the long bits on the table are they the window runners?
If you take the mechanism off won't the window fall down?
I was planning on just taking the motor off and then putting it back with out messing with the mechanism.
The repair kit also comes with a new wire harness for the motor does that also need to be fitted or is my existing one OK?
Help a newbie out to stop him mashing the windows up
Thanks,
Mo
