I have a Mk4 Polo 1.4 SE and when i am on a bumpy or rough road there is a horrible rattle noise that seems to be coming from the front brake becuase when i apply the brake the noise seems to dissapear. I've taken it into a local garage and they have had a look at the brakes and other things but could not see anything wrong. DO YOU KNOW WHAT IS MAKING THIS NOISE AND HOW IT CAN BE SORTED?

Hey pal my mk3 polo and mk2 golf used to do that, its the brake pads rattling in the caliper. Sometimes the little metal shims that act like a spring to keep the pad secure can be lost and the pads can rattle around slightly. It should be ok i just put up with the noise and tapped the brakes now and then to shut them up.
