Climate Control

Do all GTIs come with climate control?
I'm going to view one tomorrow and just wanted to know if they did or not?

Early ones i think come with just yer plain old AC

My Y reg 2001 one has climate control, but not sure if all do tho mate!

AFAIK Climate Control was an extra, although I may be wrong mine is a (January) 2001 X reg and I have it.

I thought it was standard and not an option as it was the top of the range model. I may be wrong.

Nah, not all of them have it, there are some that just have A/C.

the earlier pre-alignment models are the ones that might have air con instead of climate, but otherwise its nothing special, on all of the gtis after alignment

i have a W 2000 gti with climatronic.... i thought this came as standard as all the others ive seen or heard of have the same!

Nope. Some, like mine have a/c.
I looked at one that didn't have it all, it had a leccy sunroof instead.

With the first GTis it was an optional extra, then the made it standard.

The one i looked at with no a/c and a leccy sunroof was an X reg.

Hi All,
Does anyone kno if it is possible to fit the Climatronic unit into a GTI which has got only AC? I would like to fit it as it looks out of place the knobs when the rest of the centre dash looks hi-tech!
