Just decided to take a pic.... As you can see I haven't got a future in photography... I just point & click :)

Anyways... as you can see the cars desperately in need of a drop... I was thinking 50mm? I still want to be able to go over speed bumps and stuff...
Will 50mm be enough or will it still have loads of space.. Oh and the wheels are 15"s...

Feel free to post any comment/criticism about the car....

Your right about photography!

I'd of thought 50mm should be sufficeint, measure 50mm down from your arch and see where it comes too, gives you a very rough idea but not amazingly accurate as spring kits normally lie about what they do.

Yeah please. Larger pic would be good. Thanks mate!

I think in order to achive the look im after I'll have to drop it 70-80 :?
I dont want a lot of space in the arches...
Hmm... guess I better re-think and do some more measuring 2moro.

Alright dude, ure right about ure camera skills....and about the drop needed!

Here's my before and after. I have no idea how much mine was dropped. I'm on 15's with 195/45 tyres, lowered by FK Highsport coilovers.

Think its probs 50mm...can go lower, but wouldnt get off the ramps @ VW.

Only problems I have is the rear arches rub over big dips/pot holes, thats because I've got 5mm spacers on the back.

@ DScape - Cheers mate... If thats only a 50mm drop it looks good.
I think I'll be going for the 50mm drop.

@ CymruPolo - Whats a G? G's a Gangsta
Thanks mate!

============================================

Im seeing a lot of Gmax? spring... They seem to be cheap so Im assuming they're crap.

Whats springs/coilovers you guys using or can recommend?

Thanks again!

PS. @ bstardchild - You had some rotten luck with your polo. Well done for not giving up I probably would have.

I'm on g-max, they're ok - done ok for me anyway. a budget make. I think mine's the -55mm kit? I chopped the rear springs down 1/2 a turn because the euro look is for a higher rear which I didn't like. Ideally you should get shocks to suit, but it's all money.

Cheers dude. Think its roughly 50, couldnt tell you to be honest! But It's fine like that cause of the coilovers being so stiff, there's no bounce at all.

Ideally get a kit of decent shocks and springs mate, or coilovers. Mine are FK coilovers. I wouldn't recommend GMax, if you can get bilstein or eibach something like that. They are costly though.

Defo FK for coilovers, best for the money.

I'm no expert I'm afraid mate, it's only from what I've read/seen, so don't trust what I say...only thing that's concrete is the FK recomendation.

So... If I buy springs Ill need a set of rear & front shock absorbers right?

If I buy coilovers...thats all I need?

Thanks again guys!
