I’ve had many people tell me that if I want to lower my polo by more than 40mm I will need new springs and shocks. Also if I go any lower I will do damage to my wishbones. I wanna lower my polo about 40 to 50mm with some lowering springs, the wheels I’ve got on are 15''. Will lowering it by 50mm do any damage to my car and will I have to do any cutting to the bodywork to make the car drivable? My cars a 1997 polo 1.4cl….

Nope - but it's not ideal to just use springs as the damping will be a bit weak

nope again - can drop it 80m plus and not damage the wishbones

Nope but you will need to get your tracking done or it will cut tyres out real fast

Nope as long as your wheels are same width and ofset as std and you haven't overtyred it you will be fine
Sig pic is 50-55mm on springs only with 15 inch BBS BTW

Dont buy the 3rd ones I got them on my watch
The first ones are by streetline so at least you know the make. The other ones are unclear but on the 3rd set the 80/60 drop is awfully tempting.
I cant decide myself either on which ones to get...so Im no help!

If it were my choice, I'de didn't buy any of these, I'de go for a FK, H&R, Koni, KW or Weitec set. Maybe costs more, but you'll be sure it won't rust like hell, and that you've purchased some good quality goods.
But from these 3 I'de go for the second option, why? Cuz I don't feel to good about the brands of the others, and the second one is brandless

Just read this thread so might be late, but ive got a set of g-max springs and shocks -50mm (its called the sport kit if you want to look it up) for sale, cost me £210 in january only done 7000 - 8000 miles, its a pretty good kit imo and the only reason im selling them is because of a coilover upgrade

£100 if you want them but would have to be collected from manchester or maybe i could meet you part way if youre not that far away?
pic in sig shows how low they are with 14" wheels
